Color differences are probably the most subjective area of philately, especially when trying to apply a "face-different" or "format-different" philosophy that ignores subtle differences, including color, but recognizes that some stamps are different enough in color to warrant inclusion of both.

I don't know how to provide quantitative definitions that we can apply, but I can provide a qualitative example that will hopefully provide some guidance:

Hopefully this example will help assess the consistency of decisions made to include or exclude varieties based on color differences. I am certainly open to re-evaluating any decision to include or exclude any stamp.
